So many of us wait for that perfect moment when everything falls into place, but what if that moment never comes? Waiting for readiness can become a way of holding ourselves back, of protecting ourselves from the unknown.

Today, I want to share why starting before you feel ready is not only brave, but often exactly what you need.

Starting in the Mess

When I launched Bravely Inspired, I wasn’t in a perfect spot—not even close. I was a single mom reeling from heartbreak, still in shock over the end of my 12-year marriage. I felt more tired than I’d ever been, and the weight of uncertainty seemed unbearable. I remember sitting at my kitchen table, surrounded by half-filled cups of cold coffee and scattered crayons, wondering if I could really make this dream happen.

I didn’t feel strong. I felt shattered, small, and so incredibly unsure. Everything around me screamed that I wasn’t ready—that I needed more time, more energy, more confidence.

Readiness Is a Myth

I learned that you don’t have to feel ready to take the first step. Readiness doesn’t magically appear; it grows in response to action. The more steps you take, the more ready you become. Starting isn’t about waiting until you have it all figured out. It’s about deciding that what you want is worth moving toward, even if you’re unsure, scared, or exhausted.

ACTION STEP

Take five minutes today to write down one small action you can take towards your dream, even if it’s imperfect. Sometimes just putting pen to paper can start shifting your mindset from hesitation to action.

The Spark of Taking Action

When I decided to take those first steps to register my business name, to build a website, and to post about what I wanted to offer, I wasn’t ready. Not in the way I thought I should be. But I took those steps anyway, one at a time, on the days when I could manage it. And slowly, a little spark started to flicker. I began to see the possibility. I started to believe that I could build something beautiful, even if it began in the midst of my mess.

This is why I created The Bold Launch—for women who are done waiting for perfection, who are tired of sitting on the sidelines of their own potential. The Bold Launch is about taking that one small move forward, then another, and another. Without being overwhelmed and without the pressure to have it all figured out.

It’s about showing up imperfectly and courageously.

Let’s Take the Next Step Together

You don’t have to feel 100% ready to take the first step. You just have to take it. Imagine what could happen if you chose to move toward your dream today, even if it’s just one small action. Imagine the freedom that could come from no longer waiting for a perfect version of yourself to show up.

If you’re ready to take that first bold step, The Bold Launch is here for you. A space designed to support women who want to start without the overwhelm.

The Bold Launch begins on January 1st, 2025. What if this could be the year you finally launch your business?
